Micro Brew Studios

Comics and Stuff by Brian Meredith

The Road to Stumptown!

Next weekend, we are taking our show on the road and hitting up the Stumptown Comics Fest in Portland, Or. This will be my first time at this particular show, but Amy Riddle has been there once before with our co-publisher, Rorschach Entertainment. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the show over the last few years, and I am pretty excited to see it firsthand.

We (Amy Riddle, Mackenzie Meredith, and I) will be set up as Micro Brew Comics, but it will actually be a joint Micro Brew/Modern Pulp presence. Mackenzie will be there promoting and pimping The Adventures of Doctor Zombie, while Amy Riddle will be doing the same for the new prelude issue of Dallas McCoy. I’ll be covering the stuff in the middle, like the Sprecken miniseries and the Steve Lawlis books, as well as promoting my new comic book convention, Jet City Comic Show.

If you are in the Portland area next weekend (April 24th & 25th), please swing by the Stumptown Comics Fest and say hi!

A new MBS…

Not that the site really needed yet another upgrade, as I just did so over a year ago, but I eventually found myself unhappy with how the site was, overall. Now, I could have just changed the theme, but once I thought about it, I realized it was Joomla I was not happy with.

Don’t get me wrong. Joomla is a fantastic program, and I was pretty happy with how it performed. However, there were minor issues with things I wanted it to do that I found was easier to accomplish with WordPress. Overall, I think the Joomla site was just a bit of overkill for what I really needed, hence the current switchover to WordPress.

I’ll be adding the previous content back up for the most part, with some updated info and some tweaks…
