Writing
I am, first and foremost, a writer. I've written reviews, interviews, ad copy, articles and stories, but mostly, I write scripts for comic books. Like many comic book writers, I can write in both Full Script and Plot Script formats.
My full list of "stuff" that I've written is pretty varied, so I've chosen not to list it here. Instead, I've supplied the following writing samples as examples of my work. For other examples of my writing, just check out my various online and print comics.
- Lucifer Fawkes: The Grave of Samuel Fulcrum - One of my favorite online strips for Modern Pulp, this 8-page Full Script story was drawn and inked by Dario Carrasco and colored by James Offredi.
- Gibson Dent: A Cold, White Death - This was an 8-page stand-alone story in Full Script. Drawn by Jesse Moore, this story was included in the Rorschach Entertainment 2004 Convention Special.
- Dallas McCoy: Starstruck - This story was co-written with Amy Riddle. Being a collaboration, we found it easier to do this story in Plot Script. After our artist, Sidney Lima, finished the artwork, we then did the dialogue separately.
- Sprecken: The Destiny Dance - This is the second story I've ever written with the main character from Modern Pulp. It's also the first MP story to see print, with artwork by Rick Forgus and James Taylor. Written years ago, I got the idea for this story from a friend and collaborator, Brad Taylor. It's a bit different in tone from the other Sprecken stories, as it's more of an homage to the old pulp novels.
- Secret Agent X: The Cold Touch of Death - This is a prose sample from my first published short story, based off of the original pulp character from the 1930's.
