Dallas McCoy: Starstruck - Plot Script - Pages 1-5

PAGES 1-3

The story begins with an outside shot of Emerald Towers, a sleek looking, slim office building in the middle of downtown Cosmopolis. Emerald Towers is also the home office and headquarters for Emerald Securities. Emerald Securities is the leading Private Security firm in the Pacific Northwest, and one of the top five in the country. Their services range from electronic security systems to low-level rent-a-cops to private bodyguards. They handle clients as small as local businesses looking to keep their storefronts safe to clients as big as Presidents and Kings needing protection from assassins.

The scene shifts inside to the main office of Maxwell Durler, Vice President of Private Bodyguards for Alpha Division. He’s the man responsible for handing out the assignments to the top field agents and bodyguards that Emerald Securities leases out. Durler is an older individual, balding with gray hair and a beard, but still in great shape. Durler was once a bodyguard himself, and tries to keep in shape.

Durler is sitting behind his large oak desk, overlooking on his computer the latest assignment to come across his desk. Sitting across from Durler in one of the chairs that are available for visitors is Dallas McCoy, one the best bodyguards that Emerald Securities has to offer.

Durler hands a manila folder across the desk to Dallas, who accepts it. As she flips through the contents of the file, Durler explains to her the new assignment. Dallas is to protect Celeste Robbins, an up and coming young movie star, from a crazed fan that has been stalking her.

Not looking too happy, Dallas looks over the notes of the assignment and notices there have been bodyguards assigned to her already. Dallas asks why she is the fourth one to be assigned to Robbins, and what happened to the first three. Durler tells her that this movie is a bit of a Prima Donna and has a screw loose or something to that effect. He continues on and tells Dallas that this star has a tendency to want her bodyguard to become her best friend and acts like a spoiled princess if she doesn’t get what she wants.

Dallas tosses the file back onto the desk and shakes her head, refusing the assignment, telling Durler that it’s a waste of her time and talents. Durler agrees with her, but tells her that she was asked for specifically and that Robbins agreed to pay triple their usual price for her services. Durler pushes the file back to Dallas and tells her tough luck, but she has no choice and the job starts tomorrow, but to look at the bright side. Dallas asks what bright side. Durler tells her that this assignment will be a cakewalk, practically a paid vacation.

Resigned to her fate, Dallas reluctantly grabs the file and heads out of the office, telling Durler that he owes her big time for this crappy assignment. As she leaves, Durler hangs his head low and mutters to himself that he owes her more than she can ever know.

PAGES 4-5

The scene changes to the next day, as Dallas arrives at the home and mansion of Celeste Robbins, rising superstar of the Hollywood Set. Her home is located in Hoquiam Hills, the ritzy neighborhood of Cosmopolis, which is located on the northern hills overlooking the city and the harbor. The mansion itself is not too large, but is still a respectful size. It’s a three-story building, very sleek yet ornate at the same time.

Parking her car (a sleek looking sports car, like a Dodge Viper) out in front of the house, Dallas proceeds to walk around the house and the surrounding grounds. She is checking out the security measures that are in place. She notes that everything is up to date and secure, so she heads back to the house.

As Dallas approaches the rear entrance of the house, where the outdoor swimming pool is located, a very excited Celeste Robbins greets her new bodyguard. This is the first time we see Celeste, who is an impressive looking and beautiful girl. In her early to mid 20’s, Celeste can easily be described (physically) as a blonde Jennifer Love Hewitt. She has a skinny but shapely body, a pair of breasts one size bigger than they should be to be proportionate and long blonde hair that never seems to be out of place. Dressed in a very stylish bathing suit, Celeste practically bounces to greet Dallas, giving Dallas a huge hug, one that Dallas is not too keen on.

Prying herself out of the happy grip of Celeste, who’s gleefully ecstatic to meet her new “friend”, Dallas introduces herself to Celeste, explaining that she is there to protect her from this stalker, and that’s it. Celeste just blows off Dallas’ cold demeanor and tells her that they’re gonna be the best of friends. With that, Celeste claps her hands and tells Dallas to follow her, that she’ll show Dallas her room. As Celeste skips off into the house, Dallas shakes her head and says to herself that she just can’t understand why anyone would want to stalk this girl.
